Emergency Room Technician Course
Abrams College has designed a 132-hour E.R. Technician program for certified E.M.T.’s who wish to enter the hospital environment in the provision of emergency care.
Only 8-12 students will be admitted per course, due to the availability of the primary instructor. Upon successful completion of this course, the individual will be skilled to provide basic care under the direction of doctors and nurses within an emergency department.
PREREQUISITES: EMT-1; Current CPR
E.R. Tech Course Schedule
Following a workshop at Abrams College the student will participate
in supervised clinical internship within an emergency department. The
internship will be scheduled for 12 hour consecutive shifts during day
or night hours for a total of 132 hours.
It is important for students to be able to rearrange their respective work schedule to accommodate this internship. Students are expected to participate in the clinic no less than 36 hours per week. The student must complete a minimum of 132 clock hours to be eligible for graduation and certification.
This course is only available at the Modesto Campus.
